Oppo has presented the Watch 3 Pro, its most advanced smartwatch to date and one the first smartwatches with Qualcomm's new Snapdragon W5 chipset. Currently, the only other smartwatch with Qualcomm's new 4 nm SoC is the Watch 3, although Mobvoi has already confirmed that it will soon release a new TicWatch Pro model based on the Snapdragon W5. Also, the Watch 3 Pro has 1 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, matching the Watch 3.
However, Oppo has also included a 550 mAh battery that it rates for up to 5 days of use, or 4 days if you enable LTE connectivity. Seemingly, Oppo's in-house Apollo 4 Plus chipset helps minimise power consumption; unfortunately, Oppo has not provided any details about this chipset yet. Separately, it remains to be seen whether the Watch 3 Pro would last this long running Wear OS, if Oppo plans to release it globally, that is. Still, the Oppo Watch 3 Pro should give the Galaxy Watch5 Pro a run for its money, which Samsung launched earlier today.
Elsewhere, the Oppo Watch 3 Pro has a 1.91-inch AMOLED and LTPO display that operates at 378 x 496 pixels with a 326 PPI pixel density and a 3D glass cover. Accordingly, the Oppo Watch 3 Pro is a rather large smartwatch, with Oppo stating that the smartwatch's footprint is 50.4 x 38.5 x 12.75 mm, not including its heart rate array, and 37.5 g without a strap attached. Like the Oppo Watch 3, the Watch 3 Pro also features numerous health monitoring sensors, as well as NFC, an eSIM, GPS and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
The Oppo Watch 3 Pro is already orderable in China, where it starts at CNY 1,899 (~US$280) with a fluoroelastomer strap. Alternatively, Oppo sells the Watch 3 Pro with a leather strap for CNY 1,989 (~US$295). For reference, these are pre-sale prices. According to Oppo's website, the Watch 3 Pro will rise to CNY 1,999 (~US$296) for the fluoroelastomer option and CNY 2,099 (~US$311) if you opt for the leather version.
