Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro arrives with an AMOLED display, longer battery life and a digital crown
Xiaomi has presented its latest premium smartwatch, debuting in the wake of the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro. As Xiaomi's teasers implied, the Watch S1 Pro contains a few changes compared to the standard Watch S1, including a larger display. Specifically, the Watch S1 Pro has a 1.47-inch display, up from the 1.43-inch panel in the Watch S1 and Watch S1 Active.
According to Xiaomi, the Watch S1 Pro's display operates at 480 x 480 pixels. Incidentally, the 1.47-inch display relies on AMOLED technology and is protected by sapphire crystal, along with a stainless steel case. Xiaomi adds that the Watch S1 Pro has a CNC-milled body, as well as a CNC-milled digital crown. For reference, the latter is a new feature too; the Watch S1 and Watch S1 Active have two physical buttons, instead.
Moreover, Xiaomi has based the Watch S1 Pro on a 12 nm SoC, paired with a 500 mAh battery. Supposedly, the combination results in up to fifteen days of battery life, theoretically three days longer than the Watch S1 or Watch S1 Active. Furthermore, Xiaomi has included GPS and NFC modules, the former of which can be used in conjunction with some of the smartwatch's 100+ sports modes. The Watch S1 Pro is already orderable in China, where it retails for CNY 1,499 (~US$222). Unfortunately, Xiaomi has not confirmed whether it intends to release the Watch S1 Pro globally.
The Mi Watch S1 Pro, one of the round smartwatches with the narrowest bezel, has a great design and is smooth. (TM Roh look at this) Samsung's recent products, in terms of design, only do one thing, repeat, repeat, repeat, and I'm disappointed. pic.twitter.com/hjFee8NpEm— Ice universe (@UniverseIce) August 11, 2022
