Leaked Motorola roadmap reveals a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship, a rollable phone, and a slew of smartphones across the mid-range and budget segments
While Motorola seems to have focused mostly on the mid-range segment, the company has an assortment of premium phones in the works. Leaker Evan Blass has now revealed the company's hardware roadmap going, possibly, beyond 2023, with some rather interesting projects in the works.
Already, Motorola is scheduled to launch the Razr 3 " Maven" and the supposed 200 MP Edge 30 Ultra "Frontier" soon. The Razr 3 will be succeeded by the potential Razr 4, codenamed "Juno", next year, and featuring a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and 165 Hz display. There's also a rollable device, "Felix", although not much is known about that phone at the moment.
As for the premium Edge lineup, the 2023-bound Edge 40 series will feature two devices at least: Canyon and Bronco. Canyon appears to be Motorola's main flagship of 2023 and will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a 165 Hz display, 50 MP main camera, 12 MP telephoto camera, and 60 MP selfie camera. Bronco could be equipped with either the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, a 50 MP main camera, 16 MP selfie camera, and 13 MP ultra-wide shooter.
Motorola's planned devices for the rest of this year are less interesting. There's the Moto G32 with a 120 Hz FHD+ LCD, Snapdragon 680, and 50 MP camera. A 5G variant is said to be on the cards as well, with most of the same hardware but trading in the Snapdragon 680 for a MediaTek chipset, and the 50 MP camera for a 64 MP one. Other changes are expected to be minor. As previously covered, "Maui" will be a entry-level device, with a Helio G37, HD+ LCD, 3 GB of RAM, and a 16 MP main camera. "Victoria", on the other hand, will be an upper mid-range phone with a 108 MP main camera. When equipped with 4 GB of RAM, however, it will swap that for a 48 MP shooter. "Maui" and "Victoria" are expected to launch in Q3.
