Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 launch date potentially revealed by Qualcomm

Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 last month as a mid-cycle refresh of the poorly received Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 will make its way into smartphones next month but Qualcomm already has its sights set on its next-gen flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and appears to have provided information on when the chipset will debut.

On its official website, the American silicon company has now revealed the date for its 2022 Snapdragon Summit. The Snapdragon Summit will hold from November 14 to November 17. If history is anything to go by, that will be the event where it unveils its next-gen chipsets, likely headlined by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The exact date for the flagship's debut is unknown but it's all but certain that it will happen within those four days during the summit.

Last year, for example, the Snapdragon Tech Summit was held across November 30 and December 1. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 was unveiled on the first day—November 30, with the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 coming the next day. A similar schedule wouldn't be out of place this year.
