Xiaomi 12S Pro appears with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 onboard
Last month, word of the Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro surfaced for the first time. It's starting to look like that wasn't a fluke, though, as traces of what seems set to be the Xiaomi 12S Pro has now surfaced again—and this time with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 onboard.
As revealed by Xiaomiui, references to the Xiaomi 12S Pro have been spotted in the depths of Xiaomi's MIUI code. It appears the company is gearing up to release the 12S phones soon, with the Xiaomi 12S Pro being powered by MediaTek's latest and greatest, the Dimensity 9000.
The Xiaomi 12S looks to bear the internal coding of "L2M", possibly denoting that it's a flagship phone powered by a MediaTek chipset. The regular Xiaomi 12 Pro was numbered as "L2", for example. The Xiaomi 12S Pro is also said to bear the codename "dauimer".
While details of the tipped flagship remain unknown, It's unlikely to differ wildly from the regular Xiaomi 12 Pro—with the exception, of course, of the better-performing Dimensity 9000. Supposedly, it will be exclusive to Xiaomi's home market of China, and could make its debut in August.
