Xiaomi 12 Ultra: More details surface with up to three colour options and design similarities with Xiaomi 12S but no red Leica logo

Last week, Lei Jun appeared to hint at a Mi 11 Ultra successor being in the offing. Subsequently, leaker @RODENT950 has outlined what to expect from the Xiaomi 12 Ultra in a detailed tweet. Typically, @RODENT950 leaks information about upcoming Honor and Huawei products, he has managed to obtain details about the Xiaomi 12 Ultra.

As has been reported previously, the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 will power the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which Qualcomm introduced last month. Additionally, @RODENT950 expects the Xiaomi 12 Ultra to launch with a triple camera system derived from the Mi 11 Ultra, albeit with a new primary camera at the very least. Supposedly, Xiaomi has developed the Xiaomi 12 Ultra with a new IMX9 series sensor, details about which emerged in April.

Moreover, @RODENT950 asserts that Xiaomi will not include a red Leica logo on the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, contrary to earlier leaks. For reference, Digital Chat Station previously stated this could be the case, which would match how Huawei marketed its Leica-tuned smartphones. Purportedly, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will feature a design similar to the Xiaomi 12S series, perhaps explaining why they may launch alongside each other.

Furthermore, @RODENT950 states that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will come in three finishes. Specifically, there will be a leather option with a black or grey hue, plus a white ceramic option and a titanium version that has a gold look to it. Apparently, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will only be available with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage too, the same memory configuration in which Xiaomi will sell the Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro. Unfortunately, pricing has not leaked for any of Xiaomi's upcoming flagship smartphones yet.
