Samsung teases 'more features to be announced' for One UI Watch 4.5 as Q3 2022 release confirmed
Samsung has announced availability for One UI Watch 4.5, its first major smartwatch update since announcing One UI Watch 4 last year. As its name suggests, One UI Watch 4.5 is more of a minor update, with Google only readying Wear OS 3.5 itself, rather than Wear OS 4. Potentially, Galaxy Watch smartwatches could be the first to receive Wear OS 3.5 though, as was the case with Wear OS 3.
Regardless, Samsung's announcement contains several screenshots that Evan Blass leaked at the start of the month. Hence, Samsung has added a new QWERTY keyboard, along with an improved input method selector. Additionally, the Galaxy Watch4 series has gained dual-SIM support, albeit in the form of two eSIMs. Moreover, One UI Watch 4.5 comes with more watch face customisability and greater accessibility controls.
Currently, Samsung states that One UI Watch 4.5 will be available later this quarter. Incidentally, the company teases that there are 'more features to be announced', presumably linked to the Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro's release next month. In the meantime, Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic owners can continue to sign up for the One UI Watch 4.5 beta programme, which has already received a few refinements ahead of its public release.
