Montblanc Summit 3 videos reveal details of Google Wear OS 3.0 interface without Samsung skin
New videos of the Montblanc Summit 3 have provided more details about the standard user interface for Google Wear OS 3.0. The Summit will be the first smartwatch based on the operating system from a manufacturer other than Samsung, which uses its own interface.
The Montblanc videos show navigation using the watch’s rotary crown; for example, a short press on the crown wakes the watch, allows you to access the app launcher or returns you to the watch face from an app. If you press the crown twice, you can access your Google Wallet to make a payment, and a long press opens the power menu. Two other buttons on the gadget allow you to switch between or open apps quickly.
Sideways swipe gestures can be used to access your tiles, and swiping down will allow you to access a quick settings menu. You can swipe up to view your notifications, and you can adjust the dials by touching them for a few seconds.
Demonstrated in the videos is the FastPair feature, which allows you to pair your watch to your Android phone easily. You can view the 10 video series from Montblanc on the brand’s YouTube channel. You can pre-order the Montblanc Summit 3 for €1,250 (~US$1,258), with the gadget launching later this month.
