Samsung has announced the Galaxy M13 5G, a smartphone that leaked last month. However, it has also unveiled another Galaxy M13 that looks nothing like the model introduced in May. Based on the specifications teased so far, the new Galaxy M13 is more or less the same smartphone announced in Europe, though.
Hence, the Galaxy M13 4G has a 6.6-inch IPS display operating at 1080p and 60 Hz. Additionally, Samsung installs the ageing Exynos 850 which features eight ARM Cortex-A55 CPU cores and a Mali-G52 MP1 GPU. According to Samsung's website, the Galaxy M13 4G also has 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of flash storage, plus a 6,000 mAh battery that supports 15 W wired charging. Also, the Galaxy M13 4G has a 50 MP primary camera, a 5 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2 MP depth sensor.
By contrast, the Galaxy M13 5G has a 720p display that measures 6.5-inches across. In saying that, the IPS panel offers a 90 Hz refresh rate, which is more than can be said for the Galaxy M13 4G. As expected, the Galaxy M13 5G utilises the more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 700, a chipset that delivers up to 1.88x better performance than the Exynos 850. For some reason, the Galaxy M13 5G features a 5,000 mAh battery rather than a 6,000 mAh one, along with the same memory configurations as its 4G counterpart.
The Galaxy M13 4G starts at INR 11,999 (~US$150) in India with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Alternatively, Samsung sells the 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage edition for INR 13,999 (~US$175). In comparison, the Galaxy M13 5G retails at INR 13,999 (~US$175) and rises to INR 15,999 (~US$200). Both models ship with One UI 4.1, based on Android 12, and should receive future OS updates.
