According to reports, Samsung is developing a 5G version of the Galaxy M13. Not only will the new model feature 5G connectivity, it will also feature a more powerful chipset than the Galaxy M13 4G. The inclusion of a newer SoC will be met with a downgraded display, though.

MySmartPrice claims to have received information about a Galaxy M13 5G, with Samsung having recently launched the Galaxy M13 4G. According to the website, Samsung has made a few changes from the Galaxy M13 4G, but not all for the better.

Specifically, the upgrade to 5G connectivity also brings with it a faster SoC. For reference, Samsung equips the Galaxy M13 4G with the Exynos 850, a chipset also found in the new Galaxy F13. The Exynos 850 is rather old at this point though, and is no match for the MediaTek Dimensity 700 that MySmartPrice claims will power the Galaxy M13 5G.

According to our database, the Dimensity 700 is 1.88x times faster than the Exynos 850 in the Galaxy M13 4GMySmartPrice adds that Samsung will offset the upgraded SoC with a downgraded display. Allegedly, the Galaxy M13 5G will feature a 720p panel, down from 1080p in the Galaxy M13 4G. Elsewhere, the pair share identical hardware, including a 5,000 mAh battery and a 50 MP primary camera. The Galaxy M13 5G will be available in blue, brown and green colour options, but its release date remains unknown at this stage.
