The Samsung Galaxy A23 has allegedly been spotted on Geekbench prior to its launch. That might be a confusing statement, given that there is already a phone of this name on the market - however, this new version is thought to have 5G, whereas the existing model is 4G/LTE-only. Therefore, it seems

The Galaxy A23 launched with a more or less up-to-date camera hump containing a 50MP main camera, One UI 4.1 out of the box and a 5,000mAh battery. However, it may not have been one for a customer who would have preferred 5G as well as its budget appeal. Then again, these Samsung fans might be in luck, as it is now possible the OEM intends to update the A23 with a new mobile-data variant.

At least, this is the line of speculation that has opened following the reported disovery of a "samsung SM-A236U" on Geekbench. As the current Galaxy A23 is the SM-A235x, it might be a second variant of the same phone, possibly with a different chipset this time.

It also runs Android 12, and, with its 4GB of RAM, may not get that much more premium than the original A23. Then again, it runs on a very different 1.8GHz Qualcomm platform with the code-name holi, allegedly identified as the Snapdragon 695 SoC by its Adreno 619 GPU.

Therefore, a new version of the A23 with 5G might indeed be on the way. It may be interesting to see how much more Samsung will charge for the new spec should it truly launch soon.
