Samsung Galaxy F13: Pricing and availability announced for new mid-range smartphone with an Exynos 850 chipset
Samsung has announced the Galaxy F13, less than a week after Flipkart started teasing the device. As expected, an Exynos 850 powers the Galaxy F13, an SoC that debuted in 2019 and can be found in the Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A13 4G, among other devices. For reference, the Exynos 850 has ARM Cortex-A55 cores and a Mali-G52 MP1 GPU based on an 8 nm manufacturing process.
Additionally, the Galaxy F13 has a 6,000 mAh battery, 4 GB of RAM, expandable storage and a 6.6-inch display that operates at 1080p. For some reason, Samsung advertises the Galaxy F13 as offering 8 GB of RAM, although this includes 4 GB of 'RAM Plus', a fancy name for a 4 GB page file. Separately, Samsung has equipped the Galaxy F13 with an 8 MP front-facing camera, a 50 MP primary camera, a 5 MP ultra-wide and a 2 MP depth sensor.
At launch, the Galaxy F13 will be available in Nightsky Green, Sunrise Copper and Waterfall colourways, all with colour-matching camera housings and black display bezels. While Samsung has not confirmed whether it will sell the Galaxy F13 in other markets, the handset will cost INR 11,999 (~US$155) with 64 GB of storage. Alternatively, Samsung will offer a 128 GB option for INR 12,999 (~US$167). Samsung will begin selling the Galaxy F13 on June 29 through retailers, such as Flipkart.
