Samsung ViewFinity S8: New 27-inch and 32-inch professional monitors introduced with PANTONE verification and bright 4K panels
Samsung has unveiled the ViewFinity S8, an extension of the ViewFinity series and a monitor that it also calls the S80PB. However, Samsung has created two sizes of the ViewFinity S8, which carry the model numbers S27B800PXE and S32B800PXE. While the monitors offer similar specifications, there are a few differences.
As their names suggest, the S27B800PXE and S32B800PXE are 27-inch and 32-inch monitors, respectively. On the one hand, the S27B800PXE has a higher minimum brightness of 320 nits, compared to 280 nits in the S32B800PXE. Conversely, Samsung claims that both provide 350 nits of typical brightness. On the other hand, the S27B800PXE peaks at 400 nits and has VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification. By contrast, the S32B800PXE can reach 600 nits when viewing HDR content. Accordingly, the S32B800PXE is VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified.
Differences end there though, with both capable of outputting natively at 3,840 x 2,160 pixels (4K) with 5 ms response times and 60 Hz refresh rates. Samsung adds that both are PANTONE validated, as well as being TUV certified. Also, Samsung equips both with DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0 and USB 3.0 Type-A ports. Moreover, there is an Ethernet connection and a USB Type-C port that supports up to 90 W charging via USB Power Delivery. Unfortunately, Samsung has not confirmed how much the S27B800PXE or S32B800PXE cost yet. Both monitors should be orderable global from the end of June, though.
