Samsung has finally launched the Odyssey Neo G8, having debuted the gaming monitor in January at CES 2022. Orderable now in the US, the Odyssey Neo G8 will be available later this month in other markets and will begin shipping in the US from early July.

Samsung has announced the Odyssey Neo G8 globally, also known as the G85NB. As we have discussed previously, the Odyssey Neo G8 has a 32-inch VA panel with a native 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160). Also, the 1000R curved monitor offers up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness, with Quantum HDR 2000 support and response times of 1 ms (GtG). Additionally, the Odyssey Neo G8 provides a 240 Hz refresh rate, unlike the lesser Odyssey Neo G7.

Moreover, Samsung has included AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and CoreSync Lighting support, plus Black Equalizer, Low Input Lag Mode, Refresh Rate Optimiser and Super Arena Gaming UX, among other gaming features. Incidentally, Samsung claims that the monitor offers 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles, along with a height adjustable stand and a 100 x 100 mm wall mount. Similarly, the 32-inch panel can be tilted, swivelled and pivoted to suit your needs when gaming.

According to Samsung, the Odyssey Neo G8 will be globally throughout this month, although launch schedules will vary by region. Currently, Samsung has confirmed that the gaming monitor costs US$1,499.99 in the US, US$200 more expensive than the Odyssey Neo G7. As far as we can tell, the Odyssey Neo G8 will not begin shipping in the US until July. Conversely, Samsung has not announced pricing in other markets, such as the UK. For reference, the Odyssey Neo G8 has the following ports:

  • 1x 3.5 mm jack
  • 1x DisplayPort 1.4
  • 2x HDMI 2.1
  • 1x PC in
  • 1x USB 3.0 Type-A (Upstream)
  • 1x USB 3.0 Type-A (Downstream)
