Samsung has showcased an unboxing of the Monitor M8, an external monitor that has been likened to the Apple Studio Display. Unveiled at CES 2022, Samsung only started selling the Monitor M8 last month. However, some Monitor M8 colours will not begin shipping until early May, for some reason. By contrast, other colours should reach people from April 18 onwards.
As the images below show, Samsung has included a Height Adjustable Stand (HAS), a feature that Apple charges extra for with the Studio Display. In saying that, Huawei also bundles a HAS with its external monitors, like the MateView. The Monitor M8 comes with the SlimFit Cam though, which outputs at 1080p and 30 FPS. For reference, the SlimFit Cam is removable and hooks into the back of the Monitor M8.
Additionally, Samsung bundles a remote control, an HDMI cable, a USB Type-C cable and a power supply. Unlike many external monitors, the Monitor M8 comes pre-loaded with a Tizen-based operating system. As such, the Monitor M8 can stream services like Apple TV, Netflix and YouTube without being tethered to another device. Also, Samsung has included Amazon Alexa, Apple AirPlay and Bixby functionality, should you wish to use voice commands or wirelessly stream content from an iPhone, iPad or a Mac.
