The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 is arguably one of the best gaming monitors money can buy in the current year. Launched for an eye-watering US$2,499 last year (2021), it offers an impeccable gaming experience, thanks to its mini LED panel which has over 2,048 local dimming zones. The monitor is now available to purchase on Amazon for US$1,940, more than US$500 lower than its asking price.

Key Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 specs include a 49-inch panel with a resolution of 5,120 x 1,440 (32:9 aspect ratio), a refresh rate of 240 Hz, 2,000 nits peak brightness, a response time of 1 ms, and 1,000R curvature. Its visual fidelity is top-notch, thanks to compatibility with HDR, HDR 10+, Quantum HDR 2000, Nvidia G-Sync, and AMD FreeSync Pro+. The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 has two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DP 1.4 port, and two USB 3.0 Type-A ports.

The annular ring at the back has addressable RGB lighting that one can customize with 52 colours and five lighting profiles. While the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 is quite expensive, it is an ideal companion for current-generation consoles and high-end gaming PCs. AMD and Nvidia are slated to launch new graphics cards later this year. They can elevate your gaming experience to new levels when paired with a monitor like the Odyssey G9.
