Next-gen AMD RDNA 3 and Nvidia Lovelace GPUs broken down into potential chips and graphics card models
One of the more reliable GPU leakers, Greymon55, has published a list that is admittedly stated as “guesses” for the breakdown of the next-gen GPUs from AMD and Nvidia. However, considering the tipster’s knack for getting hold of relevant information, there is a good chance the guesses could be close to the mark.
The Nvidia Lovelace GeForce RTX 40 series starts with the AD102 GPU based on a 5 nm manufacturing process. In fact, all of the Lovelace chips (see list below) are based on TSMC’s 5 nm node, which should be a major step up from the Samsung 8 nm fabrication used for the GeForce RTX 30 series. The range runs from the RTX 4060 to the RTX 4090 series.

Details here
Chip | Model | Process |
---|---|---|
AD102 | RTX 4080-90 series | 5 nm |
AD103 | RTX 4070 series | 5 nm |
AD104 | RTX 4070 series | 5 nm |
AD106 | RTX 4060 series | 5 nm |
AMD, however, mixes up the processes a little by churning out the Navi 31 and Navi 32 GPUs for its high-end boards on a 5 nm process while the more mainstream Navi 33 and Navi 22-based products sit on a 6 nm process. The RDNA 3 Radeon RX 7000 series should also bring decent generational improvements over its predecessor, which utilized TSMC’s 7 nm process.
Chip | Model | Process |
---|---|---|
N31 | RX 7900 series | 5 nm |
N32 | RX 7800 series | 5 nm |
N33 | RX 7700 series | 6 nm |
N22 | RX 7600 series | 6 nm |
Leading on from the Nvidia predictions, Twitter user @326powah reckons the RTX 4090 (and an eventual RTX 4080 Ti) could be treated to 20-24 GB VRAM, while the RTX 4080, RTX 4070 Ti, RTX 4070, and RTX 4060 Ti may get 16 GB VRAM. The entry-level RTX 4060 and RTX 4050 Ti SKUs could receive 12 GB VRAM according to this particular prediction.
