Sony has introduced the Inzone M3 and Inzone M9 with high refresh rate panels. Featuring designs that would fit nicely next to a PlayStation 5, the Inzone M3 and Inzone M9 are 27-inch gaming monitors that support DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1, among other features.

Sony has presented the Inzone M3 and Inzone M9, two gaming monitors with a nod to the PlayStation 5. Both 27-inch monitors with 400 nits of typical brightness, the Inzone M3 is the cheaper alternative to the Inzone M9. Unsurprisingly then, the Inzone M3 has a lower resolution but faster panel than the Inzone M9.

Still, the Inzone M3 outputs at up to 1080p and supports modern features like Variable Refresh Rate (HDMI VRR). Specifically, the Inzone M3 outputs at up to 240 Hz, which it can drop to 24 Hz when needed. Incidentally, Sony has included Adaptive-Sync (VESA DP) and NVIDIA G-SYNC to minimise image tearing. The Inzone M3 supports 1 ms response times (Faster Mode), is DisplayHDR 400 certified and has twin 2 W speakers too.

By contrast, the Inzone M9 has a 3,840 x 2,160-pixel native resolution with a 144 Hz refresh rate and up to 600 nits of peak brightness. It is worth noting that the Inzone M9 can only output at 144 Hz over DisplayPort, with its HDMI ports restricted to 120 Hz. Both video outputs can operate as low as 24 Hz, though. While the Inzone M9 also has 1 ms response times and twin 2 W speakers, it offers DisplayHDR 600 certification instead of DisplayHDR 400. However, both monitors feature the following ports:

  • 1x 3.5 mm jack
  • 1x DisplayPort 1.4
  • 2x HDMI 2.1
  • 3x USB Type-A (Downstream)
  • 1x USB Type-B (Upstream)
  • 1x USB Type-C (DP Alt Mode, Upstream)

The Sony Inzone M9 is already available to pre-order for £999 in the UK and €1,099 in the Eurozone. While Sony has not confirmed the Inzone M3's pricing yet, TFT Central claims that the monitor has been listed in Italy for €699. If that is the case, we would expect the Inzone M3 to land in the UK for closer to £599 eventually.
