Anbernic Win600 to launch with Windows 10 and Steam OS compatibility from US$300
Anbernic has revealed pricing and specifications for the Win600, which it will sell through AliExpress. As its name suggests, the Win600 runs Windows by default, Windows 10 Home specifically. However, the Win600 also supports Steam OS, an overview of which Anbernic has shown in the video below.
According to the manufacturer, the Win600 relies on a 5.94-inch IPS display operating at 1,280 x 720 pixels, powered by a 39 Wh battery. Rechargeable at up to 45 W via USB Type-C, the moderately large battery fits within a 236 x 103 x 22 mm and helps the device weigh 490 g. Meanwhile, all configurations feature 8 GB of DDR4-2400 RAM operating in single-channel mode. For reference, Anbernic claims that the RAM is user-upgradeable.
At launch, the Win600 will be available for US$300 with an AMD Athlon Silver 3020e and a 128 GB SATA 3.0 SSD (M.2 2242/PCIe 3.0). Alternatively, Anbernic will offer an Athlon Silver 3050e model with 256 GB of SATA 3.0 storage for US$375. While both APUs feature Radeon RX Vega 3 iGPUs and have two CPU cores, the Athlon Silver 3050e supports Simultaneous Multi-Threading (SMT) to give it four threads.
Incidentally, the Athlon Silver 3050e can boost its CPU cores to 2.8 GHz, 200 MHz higher than the Athlon Silver 3020e. Although Anbernic's AliExpress listing merely states that the Win600 is 'coming soon', Liliputing reports that the machine will be orderable from tomorrow. Initially, Anbernic will sell both APU options in black; the Athlon Silver 3050e configuration will be available in white too.
