AYN Technologies has expanded upon its LOKI offering, having introduced an Intel Core i3-1215U version of the LOKI Mini Pro last week. This time, the company has announced the LOKI Zero, seemingly a competitor for the Anbernic Win600 with its AMD Athlon Silver 3050e APU. For reference, the Athlon Silver 3050e has a Radeon RX Vega 3 GPU and two CPU cores that support Simultaneous Multi-Threading (SMT).
Additionally, the LOKI Zero has a 6-inch IPS display that operates at 1,280 x 720 pixels. In other words, the LOKI Zero has a lower resolution display than the rest of the LOKI series. Moreover, AYN Technologies equips the LOKI Zero with 4 GB or 8 GB of DDR4-2400 RAM and a 40.5 Wh battery. By default, the machine features 64 GB of eMMC flash storage, but an optional 128 GB M.2 2230 drive is also available.
Separately, the LOKI Zero ships with Bluetooth 4.2 and WiFi 5 connectivity, plus a USB 3.2 Type-C port, a microSD card reader and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. As AYN Technologies' marketing images show, the LOKI Zero has a full Xbox controller-style layout too, which the company augments with rumble support, a gyroscope and a hall sensor.
The LOKI Zero is pre-orderable now from US$199 with 64 GB of storage. Alternatively, AYN Technologies will include a 128 GB NVMe drive for a US$22 surcharge. Eventually, AYN Technologies will charge US$249 for the LOKI Zero; pre-orders should begin shipping in Q4 2022.
