Deal | Gargantuan Samsung Odyssey Ark gaming monitor hits lowest price in 30 days thanks to a 29% discount

Shown at CES 2022 and thought to be nothing more than an attractive concept that wouldn't hit the market anytime soon. the 55-inch Samsung Odyssey Ark gaming monitor has arrived on the market in August. With the same 1000R curvature as other Odyssey gaming monitors, the massive Odyssey Ark features a Quantum Mini LED panel with 165 Hz refresh, 1 ms GtG response time, and a resolution of 3,840 X 2,160 pixels. 

In addition to the above, this expensive gaming monitor can be rotated to be used in the Cockpit Mode with HAS, tilt, and pivot functionality. Ambient Eclipse Lighting is also present in the list of features. However, the cherry on top of the list is the Sound Dome technology, which brings together four corner speakers and two central woofers. According to Samsung, these pieces of hardware "produce a 60 W 2.2.2 channel with the lowest 45 Hz notes of any gaming screen or sound bar." In terms of sound processing, the Samsung Odyssey Ark features AI Sound Booster and Dolby Atmos.

Given its list price of US$3,499.99, it is not surprising that the Samsung Odyssey Ark is not very popular. After only 54 user reviews on Amazon, it has a rather low rating of 3.7/5. While 50% of those are perfect scores, there are also 16% single-star ratings and 12% 2/5 reviews. Unsurprisingly, the lowest point of the breakdown by feature is the value for money, which has a 2.8/5 rating. The other two attributes highlighted are picture quality (4.1) and gaming performance (4.3). 

The ongoing 29% discount brings this gaming monitor down to its lowest price in 30 days, so those interested in giving it a chance can do so for US$2,499.99. Those who still find this out of their price range but would like a Mini-LED curved gaming monitor from Samsung with a large screen could go with the 49-inch Odyssey Neo G9, which is listed today on Amazon with a 28% discount that brings it down to US$1,653.80.
