Samsung ViewFinity S9 (S90PC) 5K monitor now globally available
Announced in the first week of the year at CES 2023, the ViewFinity S9 5K monitor is the next step in the high-resolution sphere by Samsung after the ViewFinity S8. Featuring multiple improvements over its predecessor, the Samsung ViewFinity S9 (S90PC) is now finally ready to take on the global market (and its competitors such as the LG UltraFine 5K).
According to Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, this piece of hardware "is designed to deliver the highest performance and best experience for professionals in creative and visual industries" and comes as part of a lineup that strives to help professionals by delivering "top-notch visual experiences, along with the lifelike color clarity and versatile connectivity they need to achieve the best in any project."
Although it has a rather small size of 27 inches, the Samsung ViewFinity S9 has a resolution of 5,120 X 2,880 pixels, thus achieving a pixel density of 218 PPI. The list of specs and features also includes 99% DCI-P3 color coverage, 600 nits typical brightness, Thunderbolt 4 and mini DP alongside USB-C connectivity, as well as a built-in 4K SlimFit webcam, Smart TV Apps, and Gaming Hub (availability depends on the market).
The pricing and shipping date varies on market and will become available from local Samsung branches in the coming days. In the US, this prosumer-level monitor is expected to retail for US$1,599 (Samsung US hasn't listed it yet).
