Official ASUS Zenfone 9 images leak ahead of next week's release
Last week, ASUS confirmed that it would soon release the Zenfone 9, over a year after it introduced the Zenfone 8. Due on July 28, ASUS shared a brief animation of what its next compact smartphone will look like. However, @_snoopytech_ has gone one better by providing numerous marketing renders, building on a marketing video that they leaked earlier this month.
Embedded below, the images show the Zenfone 9 in one of the many colours that ASUS will offer it. For reference, it seems that ASUS plans to sell the Zenfone 9 in four colourways, although it remains to be seen whether the company will sell these in all markets. Regardless, the new images confirm that the Zenfone 9 will utilise a 50 MP primary camera, plus 'gimbal stabilisation' on one of its two rear-facing sensors. Additionally, ASUS will stick with a single front-facing camera set behind a punch-hole in the display's top left-hand corner.
Similarly, the Zenfone 9 will feature a flat display with thick top and bottom bezels, along with a speaker grille mounted within the display's top edge. However, the Zenfone 9 will have flat edges, unlike its predecessor. Moreover, ASUS will include a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port, plus two physical buttons on the device's right-hand side. Purportedly, ASUS has equipped the Zenfone 9 with a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, a 120 Hz display and a 4,300 mAh dual battery, among other features.
