Amazfit has just announced a Limited Edition of its GTR 4 - which, surprisingly, drops some of the flagship smartwatch's latest hardware features. Nevertheless, it is touted as the "elite" version of the wearable, having a back reinforced with ceramic and a 316 stainless steel case. Furthermore, it is the first of its line to debut with wireless charging.
Amazfit's latest smartwatch is a more premium take on its round flagship the GTR 4. The original version of the wearable launched looking most like the GTR 3 Pro's own Limited Edition with a chronograph - however, surprisingly, its successor has reverted to a more classic design with more generic-looking physical controls rather than the 4's novel accent for its physical crown and second flat button.
The new Limited Edition is comparable in terms of specs and features to the GTR 4 otherwise, 1,43-inch AMOLED display (which still seems to have a noticeable bezel) and BioTracker 4.0 PPG sensor for health-tracking included. Then again, the newer model is also rated for added body temperature sensing.
The GTR 4 Limited Edition has also been released in just 1 (silver with an "Infinite Black" fluoroelastomer strap) SKU, whereas the original 4 has more options. However, that does not take away from the fact that the former is now the only Amazfit smartwatch with wireless charging for its 475mAh battery.
The Limited Edition is available from amazfit.com for US$249.99, whereas the GTR 4 can be found on Amazon for US$199 right now.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
