A new update, version 3.17.0.2, is available for the Amazfit GTR 4. Included in the new software are many of the features added to the T-Rex 2 earlier this year, such as the Route Import feature which allows you to add journey plans to your smartwatch. There are various compatible formats, like .GPX and .TCX, enabling you to transfer routes from Strava and similar apps.
Route Navigation has also been added via the update, using GPS and movement tracking to provide real-time directions to make it easier for you to follow a new trail. Plus, a couple of smaller tools, such as Back to start point, Save Current Location, Wake During Workout and Ejecting Water, are included with version 3.17.0.2. Several optimizations have been made to features like Auto Brightness Adjustment and the UI of the number picker. Amazfit also suggests that the overall stability of the system has been improved.
One user also reported an improvement in the accuracy of the heart rate monitor on their Amazfit GTR 4, though this was not included in the changelog (below). The 18.80 MB update appears to be pushed to eligible smartwatches automatically, with users having the choice of when to install it. Several users reported battery drainage issues following the update; however, apparently, these were resolved after a reboot.
