Huami launches the Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2 smartwatches for the US and UK markets
Huami has finally announced its international pricing for the Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2 smartwatches. Essentially, they are round- and square-faced vehicles for the same fitness-focused OS developed by their OEM, paired to the Zepp iOS or Android app for international units.
It has equipped both of them with AMOLED displays, which are 1.39 inches in length in the case of the GTR 2 and 1.65-inch in that of the GTS 2. Huami also claims that the circular option is bezelless thanks to its curved glass.
Both also have an inbuit mic so as to take calls from a paired smartphone over their Bluetooth 5.0 connection, 3GB of music storage and over 50 different faces by default. The GTR 2 has a battery rated for 14 days of normal use, or 38 days in "basic" mode, whereas the GTS 2 may last for up to 7 days in normal mode or 20 days in the basic setting between charges.
This smartwatch has just 1 Obisidian Black colorway, whereas the GTS 2 has Urban Gray, Desert Gold and Midnight Black options. Both new wearables also come with Amazon Alexa built in, to replace the XiaoAI assistant found in Chinese-market units. They are both priced at US$179, or £159 in the UK.
The GTR 2 will be released in both its new markets on October 30, 2020, whereas the GTS 2 will go on sale on November 1 in the US, and on November 15 in the UK. They will be sold through the Amazfit website or on Amazon in both regions.
