If you are after a smartwatch but do not fancy paying high prices, then you can currently grab yourself something of a bargain with Skagen's latest deal. The company has slashed the price of its Falster 2 to US$99 in the US, £89 in the UK and €99 in the Eurozone, making it around 30% of its original retail price. Amazon currently sells the Falster 2 for around 100% more than Skagen is.
Skagen replaced the Falster 2 with the Falster 3 earlier this year, which explains the hefty discount. We should point out that the Falster 2 is now over two years old, but it is still good enough to serve as a general smartwatch, especially at US$99.
WearOS underpins the Falster 2, as does the older Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset. There is also 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of storage, along with GPS and a heart-rate monitor. Skagen has included an NFC chip for use with Google Pay, too. Like many smartwatches, the Falster 2 supports activity tracking and can sync with an iPhone or Android smartphone. The smartwatch supports Bluetooth 4.1 LE too and should last up to 2 days between charges. There is no SpO2 sensor for measuring blood oxygen levels, though.
