Amazfit GTR 2e and GTS 2e details appear as Huami expands the Amazfit line further
Huami has not been resting on its laurels after the successful launches of the Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2. Not only is the company working on devices in its more premium Zepp lineup, with the Zepp Z scheduled to make an appearance next week, but it also seems to be planning on expanding the current GTR 2 and GTS 2 ranges with more devices. We have already reported about the potential Amazfit GTS 2 Mini and now we have a GTR 2e and GTS 2e making surprise appearances.
The FCC certification for a device with the model number A2021 has the application name “Amazfit GTS 2e”, so it’s possible Huami has decided to pass on using the suffix “lite” for this second generation of smartwatches and has gone for the more economical attachment “e” instead. The “Label” section of the certification reveals some images of the interface, and like the regular Amazfit GTS 2 the “e” model also apparently has a square display.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, directly after the discovery of the GTS 2e was the unearthing of the FCC documents for the Amazfit GTR 2e (model number A2023). The images shown in this application show a circular display akin to the already-released larger Amazfit GTR 2 model. It’s not yet known what the likely cheaper GTS 2e and GTR 2e smartwatches will be missing to make them more affordable, although it has been speculated they might lose Wi-Fi connection capability (Bluetooth only), NFC function, or even the ECG utility.
