Zepp Z: Huami has also released an ECG and NFC version of its new smartwatch
We have already reported on the Zepp Z from Huami, which it announced in mid-November. The smartwatch offers plenty of features for its US$349 price tag, but a new version goes even further. Originally spotted by the likes of Gizchina, the second version of the Zepp Z adds two features that the global model lacks.
As the screenshot below demonstrates, Huami is also selling a version of the Zepp Z with an ECG monitor and an NFC module. Presumably, the latter will be compatible with NFC payment services, although we doubt that Google Pay will be one of them.
Currently, Huami only sells the ECG and NFC version of the Zepp Z in China. JD.com, a major retailer in the country, is currently selling the model for CNY 2,649 (~US$403), but it retails for CNY 2,699 (~US$410). It is unclear if Huami plans to release this version globally, although it would probably need to receive additional certifications to do so. You can find out more about the Zepp Z here.
