The OEM Huami changed its name to Zepp Health in February 2021, although its most prominent consumer-tech brands will remain Amazfit and Zepp. Now, the company has something else to celebrate for 1Q021: shipping the 4th most units in the quarter.
Zepp and Amazfit combined sold approximately 1.65 million units worldwide, an increase of 68.8% year-on-year. Their owner attributed this success to consistent demand for health-focused tech during the Covid-19 pandemic. Devices such as the recently-released T-Rex Pro, as well as the range of GTR 2- and GTS 2-series wearables, contributed particularly well to this growth.
Zepp Health also now claims that Amazfit, Zepp or both now occupy top spots in various individual countries. They include Spain, Russia and Brazil, in which one or the other was #1 for 1Q2021. They are also #2 in Italy, #3 in Poland; and #4 in a number of nations, including Germany, Thailand and India.
Meanwhile, the company reached #6 in the US, where the Zepp brand originated. Zepp Health intends to improve on this performance in the future, with plans for the release of wearables with advanced tracking features such as those for blood pressure and electroechocardiography (ECG) soon.
