Update: The Powerbuds Pro are also now available on the OEM's own website at a price of US$149.99.
Original Article: The Powerbuds were one of the first pairs of TWS earbuds from Amazfit. Now, this brand touts their Pro versions as upgrades with active noise cancellation (ANC). The Zepp Health subsidiary asserts that this spec is top of the line, thanks to 40-decibel (dB) noise reduction, conferred by a total of 6 dedicated microphones.
Not only that, but the Amazfit Powerbuds Pro are the accessories in which 2 potentially compelling new health-boosting features see their debut. They consist of in-earbud heart rate tracking, supported by an optical Goodix sensor rated for high precision at low power.
This new hardware, found in each right earbud of a Powerbuds Pro set, tracks cardiac performance during training and sends it to the Zepp app. It can also then be shared to third-party platforms such as Runtastic, MapMyRun or Runkeeper.
The earbuds also support posture-monitoring, based on sensors directed at the orientation of the cervical spine and can also be set to modulate audio volume in order to protect the user's hearing. In terms of design, the new TWS earbuds give the impression of markedly 2D takes on the typical AirPod-like form-factor, finished in white and adorned with tiny red LEDs.
The Powerbuds Pro are already on sale in some markets such as the US, but are doing their part in promoting Amazfit's imminent Chinese-market launch nonetheless. It is set for October 12, 2021, whereas the international version of the same (also set to unleash its third-gen flagship smartwatches on the world) is scheduled for tomorrow (October 11, 2021).
