Huami is a smartwatch OEM that has developed a habit of releasing titanium-cased variants of its products. Now, it has given one of its latest releases, the GTS, the same treatment. Its new edition costs about US$185, or about $58 more than the original.

The Amazfit GTS, like the Xiaomi Mi Watch, is a cost-effective smartwatch designed to look quite like the Apple Watch. Its maker has announced a new version of this wearable, which has a titanium casing rather than the aluminium of the original release. The OEM has also done the same with the Stratos3 (also known as the Sports Watch 3) and the GTR in the past.

The 'Amazfit GTS Titanium Edition' has the same internals as the normal variant. It also has the same interface, which admittedly exhibited some teething problems when tested here at NotebookCheck. However, it will presumably add more of a premium cachet to this square-faced smartwatch, as well as some additional durability.

The titanium-coated Amazfit GTS is to go on sale from December 1, 2019 via the online platforms Youpin, Tmall and Jingdong. However, there is no word on more international availability for this new option. It is slated to cost 1299 yuan (about US$185), whereas the aluminium version went for 899 yuan (~$127) on its launch.
