Huami asserts that its Amazfit GTS smartwatch had an outstanding Black Friday
Huami (according to a 2018 report by the group Frost & Sullivan) can now call itself the world's highest-volume manufacturer of wearables. This is due to its contracts to make such devices for other OEMs: for example, it also produces Xiaomi's Mi Band series of fitness trackers. However, it has also begun to make a name for itself by marketing smartwatches and other similar devices under its own brand, Amazfit.
The company has claimed that its 2019 Black Friday weekend data indicates an extremely strong sales performance for the same on various online platforms and stores. For example, the recently-released GTS "sold out in less than 60 minutes" on Spain's Fnac website. Another Spanish deals site, Chollometro, apparently found that this device was the most popular within its category.
Meanwhile, Worten, a 3rd e-tailer that operates in Spain and Portugal, also sold out of its stock of the Amazfit GTR and Bip Lite "in 1 hour" during this Black Friday weekend. This may be an ideal sequel to Huami's latest panel of financial results, which cover the first 3 quarters of 2019 (1-3Q2019). They show that the OEM's shipments totalled 27.6 million for this period, which is an improvement of 52.9% compared to the same in 1-3Q2018.
