The Amazfit Sports Watch 3 was released in China recently. However, its series is also marketed internationally as the Stratos line of sports-focused wearables. Its 3rd generation is now set for launch across multiple European countries later in November 2019.

Huami is a wearables OEM that makes relevant devices for Xiaomi as well as those for its own brand, Amazfit. It recently released a number of new models under this name, including the Sports Watch 3. This has been a Chinese-market exclusive since launch; however, it now seems the company is ready to release it internationally. For this purpose, it has been reborn as the Stratos3.

This version remains as much a sports-oriented watch as its Chinese analog. Its 5-ATM water-resistant build has a 1.34-inch 320x320 "MIP" display. This round screen is covered by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 crystal treated with an anti-fingerprint coating. The MIP technology was designed by JDI to be a transflective color display that allows greater visibility in the sunlight without compromising on power conservation.

On that note, Huami also asserts that this watch has a dual-chipset setup for 2 "independent systems". They are called Ultra-Endurance, controlled by what is called an "ARM Cortex-M4T Low Power-Consumption Chip", and Smart, powered by silicon the OEM was less specific about.

Ultra-Endurance Mode is rated to make the Amazfit Stratos3 last for up to 14 days on a single charge of its 300mAh battery, while still running functions such as 11 of 19 "sports modes", all-day "BioTracker" optical heart-rate monitoring and notification management.

Smart Mode, on the other hand, uses approximately 40% more battery, although it has 100% functionality of the Amazfit Stratos3 whereas the other has 80%. This includes the integration of the FIRSTBEAT "professional-level sports analysis" algorithm, which apparently informs athletic development while preventing injuries.

Otherwise, the Stratos3 is equipped with 4 physical buttons and a silicon strap. It can connect to a mobile device via Bluetooth 4.2, Bluetooth low energy 5.0 or 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. It can also track location for running routes and so on with GPS+ GLONASS, GPS+ GALILEO and GPS+ BEIDOU.

The new Amazfit smartwatch will be released across Europe, starting with the Czech Republic from today (November 11, 2019). This will be followed with similar events in Serbia and Germany from November 18, 2019, and then in Italy and Spain on November 22, 2019. The Stratos3 will be sold through "mainstream e-commerce platforms and offline retailers" on these dates.
