Samsung has previewed new themed versions of its current flagship TWS earbuds. These Galaxy Buds2 and Buds2 Pro are presented as second-generation Pokémon Special Editions, and are, like their predecessors, mainly aimed at a South Korean audience. However, they are based on individual pocket monsters rather than on a generic Pokéball this time.

Samsung's new limited-edition accessory trailer seems to mainly consist of bumpers one could conceivably fit onto their existing Galaxy Buds2 or Buds2 Pro cases. However, the OEM has indicated that they will only be available with the new Special Edition of either set of TWS earbuds.

Therefore, if one wants a pair of earphones in a new officially-licensed shell, they may have to pay for these new variants. There are 3 of these "special and attractive designs" to choose from, based on Ditto, Jigglypuff or Snorlax.

Either version is also slated to come packaged with exclusive keepsakes such as matching stickers - which is good, as the new Buds2 Pokémon Special Editions are to be released for 130,000 won (~US$99), while their Pro counterparts will be 200,000 won (~US$135, whereas the standard variants can be found for about US$113 on Amazon today).

The second-gen Buds2-series Special Editions will be available to buy from Samsung's flagship physical store in Gangnam, Seoul on June 29, 2023. For those who can't wait that long for their new favorite Pokémon-themed accessories, however, they will be available via the OEM's domestic online channels from tomorrow (June 27, 2023).
