Amazon Fire Max 11 launches with keyboard case, fingerprint sensor and stylus
Amazon has presented the Fire Max 11, its largest Fire-branded tablet to date. As its name suggests, the Fire Max 11 centres around an 11-inch display, which outputs at 2,000 x 1,200 pixels and recognises up to 4,096 pressure levels when used with an optional stylus. Amazon adds that it has included a tempered glass front panel, making it more robust than past Fire tablets.
Additionally, the Fire Max 11 features a MediaTek MT8188J chipset within its 7.5 mm and 490 g chassis. According to Amazon, the Fire Max 11 is 50% more powerful than the Fire HD 10, mostly because of the chipset's ARM Cortex-A78 performance cores and Cortex-A55 CPU cores that can reach 2.2 GHz and 2 GHz, respectively. Amazon complements the energy-efficient chipset with 4 GB and 64 GB or 128 GB of flash storage, both of which are expandable.
Amazon adds that the tablet should last up to 14 hours between charges, albeit without providing a battery capacity. Moreover, Amazon equips its new tablet with 8 MP front and rear-facing cameras, a 3.5 mm jack, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5 mm jack and a USB Type-C port. Pricing starts at US$229.99 for the 64 GB edition with adverts and rises to US$379.99 if you opt for the 128 GB Productivity Bundle without adverts. While the Fire Max 11 is already orderable, Amazon will not start shipping units until June 14.
