iQOO Pad launches as inaugural Dimensity 9000 Plus-powered tablet alongside new TWS Air Pro earbuds
iQOO has now finally announced that its first ever Pad is ready to take on its similarly-named competition in the Android tablet space today (May 23, 2023). Somewhat unsurprisingly, it has launched with nearly the exact same specs (and increasingly sought-after 7:5 silhouette) of the Vivo Pad 2 - except for the switch to the Dimensity 9000+ platform, of course.
The iQOO Pad is also now the first of its kind to be available in a new Star Gray colorway, which goes well with the darker shade in which the new TWS Air Pros are finished. They are not the first semi-in-ear TWS buds from iQOO to look like that, but they are the first to combine ANC, "360°" spatial audio, Bluetooth 5.3 and a newly-improved 88-millisecond latency spec into 1 USB type-C capable package.
On that note, the Pad is rated for 44W charging, for which an adapter is included in its box. Its new first-party Pencil and keyboard folio are (like those of the OnePlus Pad) separate purchases, however. iQOO's new "Performance Giant" starts at 8GB of RAM for 2,599 yuan (~US$369) without pre-order special offers, whereas the TWS Air Pros are 299 yuan (~US42).
They are available through Chinese retailers such as jd.com. iQOO has yet to mention international availability for the Pad - then again, it would not be the first MediaTek SoC-powered Android device the brand has brought to markets such as India.
