The compact iQoo tablet rumored to challenge the new Legion Y700 4th Gen in China soon will launch as the Pad5 Pro, according to a new Digital Chat Station post on Weibo.
The typically reliable leaker now suggests that it might in fact be intended as a more affordable option with MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ silicon which, while still powerful and effective, is still a last-gen flagship chipset at this stage.
The Pad5 Pro might be joined by the vanilla Pad5 at launch: a tablet that may or may not have the same specs and design except for the even older Dimensity 9300+ SoC.
For those who might prefer a potentially even more affordable new slate with a 12.1-inch display instead, there is apparently to be an iQoo Pad5e.
In an even more stark departure from the rest of its series, its alleged 2.8K screen might be driven by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 platform from Qualcomm.
The apparently extended new crop of iQoo tablets are now believed to succeed the Pad2 and Pad2 Pro later in 2025, which might give all 3 variants a good chance of an unusually fast 144Hz refresh rate, OriginOS based on Android 15 and metallic unibody builds with support for first-party accessories such as a stylus and keyboard.
