OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra tipped to debut as brand’s first 144Hz display phone

The OnePlus Ace 5 series currently features two performance-oriented smartphones: the Ace 5 and the Ace 5 Pro. The company recently confirmed that two new models will be introduced in the lineup. A new leak has now appeared online, revealing key highlights of one of the upcoming models.

The company announced that it will be launching the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra (also referred to as the Extreme Edition) and the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing in the coming days. Additionally, OnePlus revealed the processors powering both phones. The high-end Ace 5 Ultra model is confirmed to feature the Dimensity 9400+ chipset, which is the newest flagship offering from MediaTek. Meanwhile, the Ace 5 Racing will be a more affordable model with the Dimensity 9400e chipset.

The new leak, shared by tipster Digital Chat Station, highlights key details of the Ultra model. According to the tipster, the Ace 5 Ultra is a gaming-focused smartphone. In addition to the powerful Dimensity 9400+ chipset, the phone will include other features designed to enhance the gaming experience.

The Ace 5 Ultra is said to feature a display with a 144Hz refresh rate. This will mark the first time OnePlus adopts a 144Hz refresh rate display, as it typically sticks with 120Hz, even on its flagship offering, the OnePlus 13 (curr. $878 on Amazon).

Additionally, the Ace 5 Ultra will feature the Fengchi gaming kernel. It aims to optimize the CPU and GPU performance for an enhanced gaming experience.

The new Ace 5 models will be released next week in China. However, global availability of the new models remains uncertain.
