After the release of Lenovo's Legion Y700 tablet last week, the compact performance tablet race has been thrown open. iQoo is set to join, with new leaks now revealing more information on its upcoming iPad Mini-sized model.

Compact gaming tablets are the rage now. Lenovo recently debuted the Legion Y700 4th Gen with an 8.8-inch display and Snapdragon 8 Elite, and brands like Redmi and RedMagic are set to deliver similar offerings in the coming months. Reportedly, iQoo has identical plans.

According to a new leak, iQoo is working on a compact gaming tablet as well. This tablet is expected to be in the 8-inch range, with word on the grapevine indicating it could be an 8.3-inch LCD, making it one of the smallest offerings in its niche and about the same size as Apple's iPad Mini.

This new iQoo tablet is tipped to launch in the second half of the year, and can be expected to debut sometime in Q3, or September at the latest. It's unclear what chipset will underpin this tablet, but a current-gen flagship SoC has been mooted, limiting the options to the Snapdragon 8 Elite and MediaTek Dimensity 9400 series. Either way, we'll be sure to keep you updated on this.
