Together with the Reno 14 Pro, Oppo has also just unveiled the affordable Oppo Pad SE, a tablet with an 11-inch IPS panel that has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 and a frame rate of 90 Hz, but can only display 70.8% of the NTSC color space, making the tablet hardly suitable for color-intensive applications.
The device features a relatively striking design with a large, round 5 MP camera on the two-tone back, which comes in either silver or two shades of blue. The 7.39-millimeter thin, 530-gram tablet is said to be ideal for students thanks to the multitasking features of ColorOS 15, although the relatively slow MediaTek Helio G100 limits the tablet's productivity capabilities. A 5 MP selfie camera is on board for video chats and is discreetly located at the edge of the screen.
Oppo installs a 9,340 mAh battery, which is said to provide up to 19.5 hours of video playback and charges via USB-C with up to 33 watts. The MediaTek Helio chip only supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), but at least supports Bluetooth 5.4. Lastly, the tablet only comes with a maximum of 256 GB of storage; Oppo forgoes a microSD slot for storage expansion.
Price and availability
The Oppo Pad SE with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB flash storage is selling in China for 899 yuan (approx. $124), while the top model with 8 GB or 256 GB costs 1,299 yuan (approx. $180). Oppo is yet to confirm any details about a possible international launch.
