The Legion Tab Gen 4 is still without an official release date. Nonetheless, Lenovo continues to tease the new tablet on Chinese social media. For reference, Lenovo refers to the tablet as the Legion Y700 4th Generation or Legion Tablet Y700 4th Generation in China. However, the company has re-branded the Y700 as the Legion Tab for past generations.
Regardless of the name, Lenovo considers its latest 8.8-inch tablet a superior alternative to other compact tablets like the Apple iPad mini (curr. $489 on Amazon). Having previously compared the pair's display specifications, Lenovo has now proudly posted a short video highlighting the Legion Tab Gen 4's strengths as a tool for consuming media and playing games. Embedded below, the video reiterates that Lenovo's latest compact tablet will combine a 3K and 165 Hz display with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset to deliver flagship performance.
On the latter front, Lenovo has also hinted at the existence of a first-party accessory that transforms its tablet into a quasi-gaming handheld. Unfortunately, the company has only provided the briefest glimpse at the accessory, which includes front-facing RGB lighting with a bottom-mounted 3.5 mm jack and USB Type-C port. Lenovo will likely reveal more information about the tablet and its gaming handheld accessory in the coming days, though.
