Over six months has passed since Xiaomi initially released the Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro. With that being said, Xiaomi wait until March before offering the Pad 7 Pro and its smaller sibling globally (curr. $499.99 on Amazon). We may not have long to wait before Xiaomi brings a third Pad 7 series option to market, though.
Until now, this third variant has been known as the Pad 7 Max on account of expectations that it will launch with a 14-inch display like the Pad 6 Max from 2023. However, a new certification listing suggests that Xiaomi plans to take the route of rivals like Samsung, which adopts an 'Ultra' moniker for its large tablet releases.
As the image below shows, Xiaomi has now received clearance from the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) for the Pad 7 Ultra, not the Pad 7 Max. Not only that, but the same listing associates the Pad 7 Ultra with the model number 25032RP42C which was seen a few months ago at the 3C in China with 120 W wired charging.
There is no suggestion at this stage that the tablet will receive a global release to compete against the iPad Pro 13 and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra or Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, though. For the time being, only a Chinese variant has appeared online, just like the Vivo Pad5 Pro and Oppo Pad 4 Pro that officially arrived last month. Currently, the Pad 7 Ultra is believed to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a 14-inch OLED display.
