Microsoft schedules Surface-related announcement for May 6

Microsoft is expected to announce new Surface hardware soon, and now, the tech giant has revealed a launch date for the new devices.

According to a post on X by the official Microsoft Surface account, there's an announcement scheduled for May 6, 2025. Based on the post, which includes an image with the text 'Copilot+PC', there are speculations the announcement is for new Surface computers.

Back in March, two new Surface computers with model numbers '2109' and '2110' were certified by the Chinese Certification Commission. These devices are believed to be smaller variants of the Surface Laptop and Surface Pro.

The latest Surface Pro (curr. available on Amazon for $939.99) is 13 inches, and there are speculations that there will be a smaller 12-inch model with a metal body and a design similar to the Surface Go. This model, which has also appeared on Geekbench, will have a Snapdragon X (X1P-42-100) processor, 16GB of RAM, and run Windows 11 Pro.

There are also reports of a third laptop with the model number '2095' that is expected to be a replacement for the current Surface Laptop Go.
