No fans but a high price. Microsoft is launching its new compact Surface Pro that comes with a 12-inch display and a Snapdragon ARM processor from Qualcomm. One special feature is the passive cooling that eliminates annoying fan noise.

Good runtimes, but what else? Microsoft has brought out a new Surface Laptop with a 13-inch display. The problem, however, is that it is worse in almost every respect—and it costs more than the well-known Surface Laptop 13.8. Update: Removable SSD photos added.

The Surface laptop is better with Intel. Last year, Microsoft switched its Surface devices completely to ARM processors from Qualcomm. However, it doesn't seem that business customers want these devices, as the Surface Laptop 15 for Business is now available with Intel's Lunar Lake processors. The result is better in many areas.

A significantly better price-to-performance ratio. The base variant of the new Surface Pro 11 has gone with an IPS display and the supposedly slower Snapdragon X Plus processor. In practice, you don't notice the lower performance but some constraints remain due to the ARM version of Windows.
