Smaller Microsoft Surface launching with Nvidia RTX Spark and 48 GB RAM

Roland Quandt has elaborated on claims that Microsoft is developing a third device built around Nvidia's RTX Spark platform. To recap, the company has already announced the Surface Laptop Ultra and the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, having released the Surface Laptop 8 and Surface Pro 12 earlier this year (curr. $1,349 on Amazon).

Currently, Microsoft is expected to reveal more about both devices on October 7 at a Surface-focused event in San Francisco. Earlier this week, Quandt asserted that the company has also created Surface 'Minos', which he believed served as a smaller alternative to the Surface Laptop Ultra.

Previously, the leaker reported that Surface 'Minos' would be available with up to 32 GB of RAM. Writing on WinFuture, Quandt now claims to have seen dealers mentioning 48 GB of RAM, as well as 512 GB or 1 TB of storage. Moreover, dealer entries allegedly mention two Nvidia CPU configurations, likely 18-core and 20-core variants that have appeared on benchmarking websites in the last few weeks.

Also, Quandt reiterates that Surface 'Minos' contains a 12-inch display. With that being said, the leaker caveats that the information he has seen could contain errors or could even be 'plain wrong'. Hence, we would still recommend reserving judgement until more concrete evidence emerges.
