Microsoft launches new Surface Mouse with haptic feedback and ambidextrous design

Microsoft is hosting a new Surface event on October 7. Nonetheless, the company has decided to bring multiple new devices to Qualcomm's Snapdragon Summit 2026 in Hawaii. As we have covered separately, Microsoft has introduced updated Surface Pro 12-inch and Surface Laptop 13-inch generations with Snapdragon X2 series chipsets.

Additionally, it has complemented its new compact Surface PCs with an updated Surface Mouse. For context, the company already sells Surface Arc and Surface Mobile mice (curr. $69.99 on Amazon). On the face of it, the new Surface Mouse is a relatively stripped-back affair. To that end, the mouse has a sculpted design, no visible mouse buttons and a simple scroll wheel.

However, the Surface Mouse boasts haptic feedback support, taking advantage of Windows 11's recent 'haptic signals' functionality. Moreover, the mouse contains a customisable button in front of its scroll wheel, the usage of which can be adjusted in the Surface app. Also, the mouse supports Bluetooth 6.0 and has been designed with ambidextrousness in mind.

The new Surface Mouse starts at $79.99 in the US. At launch, Microsoft plans to offer its new mouse in Black and Platinum colours. The Surface Mouse will be available to order beginning October 13. Please see the company's website for more details.
