The Vivo Pad SE is a new and very affordable tablet. The 12.3-inch tablet has a fairly high resolution, full sRGB color space coverage and a refresh rate of 90Hz.
The Vivo Pad SE is now available, but only on the Chinese market for the time being. Vivo has listed the new Android tablet for prices starting at ¥999, which currently translates to $136. The base model has 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage, while the mid-tier configuration has 8GB of memory. Additionally, a flagship variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage is available as well. Vivo has not released any info on a potential global launch.
The Pad SE features a 12.3-inch LCD with a resolution of 2464 x 1600 pixels, a 90Hz refresh rate and full sRGB colors. The Vivo Pad SE is also offered with a special display coating that is supposed to reduce reflections by 97%, which can also help with eye strain.
The tablet is officially marketed as a tablet for school kids and the education sector in general, which explains the rather low price and educational features, many of which are designed for the Chinese market. For instance, the preinstalled scanner app can be used to digitalize textbooks, while an AI-based learning schedule is also available.
The Vivo Pad SE sports an 8,500mAh battery that can be charged at up to 15 watts. Moreover, it’s powered by an 8-core Qualcomm SoC, which appears to be the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. Two 5-megapixel cameras, four speakers and a USB-C 2.0 port are onboard as well.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

My fascination for technology goes back a long way to the Pentium II era. Modding, overclocking and treasuring computer hardware has since become an integral part of my life. As a student, I further developed a keen interest in mobile technologies that can make the stressful college life so much easier. After I fell in love with the creation of digital content while working in a marketing position, I now scour the web to bring you the most exciting topics in the world of tech. Outside the office, I’m particularly passionate about motorsports and mountain biking.
