Honor has presented the Honor Pad GT today alongside the Honor GT Pro in China. While the Honor GT Pro is a challenger to gaming smartphones like the RedMagic 10 Pro (curr. $749 on Amazon), there is more than meets the eye with the Honor Pad GT.
On the face of it, the Honor Pad GT is another gaming-focused device. To that end, Honor boasts that the tablet delivers 2,800 x 1,840-pixel and 144 Hz visuals across an 11.5-inch IPS display with a 1,500:1 contrast ratio and 500 nits peak brightness. According to the company, this display sits in front of a large vapour chamber cooling system and a plentiful 10,100 mAh battery that supports 66 W wired charging.
On top of that, the Honor Pad GT features the Dimensity 8350, a 4 nm SoC that MediaTek equips with four ARM Cortex-A715 CPU cores clocked at 3.35 GHz and four Cortex-A510 limited to 2.2 GHz. The tablet also masters Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity with 8 MP front-facing and 13 MP primary cameras, all within a 6.12 mm case that weighs 480 g.
For all intents and purposes, the Honor Pad GT is a re-badged Honor Pad V9. As far as we can tell, there is nothing separating Honor's latest tablet from the one that we reviewed last year. At any rate, the Honor Pad GT is available from CNY 1,699 (~$233) starting with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Alternatively, the tablet can be configured with up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for CNY 2,599 (~$357). A global release has not been confirmed yet, though.
