Casio’s annual summer G-Shock release might be heading for a delay. According to a new report from Great G-Shock World, multiple sources have claimed that the "Love the Sea and the Earth" series - also known as the Dolphin & Whale Eco Models - may not stick to its usual June schedule for 2025.
These models, well-known for their conservation-themed collabs and an overall vibrant summer aesthetic, have typically launched around June each year. The 2024 release, for example, was the GW-8201K-7JR Frogman - a white and gold diver’s G-Shock that was released as part of Casio’s ongoing partnership with the Japan-based NGO, Icerc.
This year, however, there's a possibility that the 2025 model may not arrive in time for its usual early summer debut. While no official delay has been confirmed, it’s worth noting that a lack of announcements during May would practically confirm a schedule shift, based on Casio’s previous patterns. The brand usually reveals these seasonal editions about a month ahead of release.
Furthermore, the new model for 2025 is rumored to be based on the GW-6900, a round-faced G-Shock that is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. If true, this would mark a return to one of the more classic (and relatively inexpensive) G-Shock silhouettes for the summer series.
So far, Casio hasn’t made any formal statement. But if you're interested, you might want to keep an eye out over the next two weeks. If we don’t hear anything by the end of May, it’s safe to assume the usual summer release window has been pushed back.
